That's how I am with strawberries. I'm allergic, but I forget that until I'm awake at 2 in the morning, crying because I have hives the size of baseballs on my legs, and they itch like all hell. And yet, my family sits there as I eat the strawberries, but say nothing about it. Gee, thanks.
