that one thing that still bugs me about Chamberlain

Chamberlain Hall, that is -- my dorm.

and the thing is, I know you've probably heard variations on this theme about a thousand times, and I know I don't know very much about plumbing, but isn't red supposed to be for HOT, and blue for COLD?

thank you; that's what I thought.

also on the list of things you've probably heard a thousand times, Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin died.

I know I'm a terrible, soulless wretch, but I cannot be the only person who laughed when I heard this.
(then I realized a significant part of my youth had died, leaving millions of already-tasteless-and-now-even-more-so bad jokes and dodgy Australian accents in his wake, and I mourned. in his final act of derring-do, Steve Irwin had tainted us all.)

Cool name. Sounds... like a Jane Austen locale XD

Hey, reverse plumbing happeneed in my grandma's house too. I think the plumbers union prob has a evil sense of humor. Trying to see how many clients they can give first degree burns to?

more like how many they can freeze into a popsicle when it's too early in the morning to play logic puzzles with the shower ;p

by the way, I wrote another Numb3rs fic last night, if you're interested; it's posted at [livejournal.com profile] numb3rsflashfic.

I laughed a little bit, too. I repented immediately afterward.

also true. to be honest, I'm heartbroken, and still can't quite get my head around the fact that. I mean. he's gone.

it's horrible, but I truly don't know whether to laugh or cry. a stingray spine through the heart.

OMFG ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!!?!!?!!!?!?!?

[identity profile] british-pickle.livejournal.com 2006-09-04 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
You most certainly weren't the only one who laughed when they heard.

One of the girls from another dorm came in because her paper was saved on my friend's laptop (she's staying with me and my roommate because she and her roommate had a falling-out yesterday), and the girl was asking if we'd heard about Steve Irwin, and we're like, "He DIED?"

I've always kind of enjoyed the show, but in a sort of way that 'oh there's nothing better on', because watching people deliberately put themselves in danger like that kind of hurts to watch. And I've always said, "He's going to get killed or seriously hurt one of these days," but I was never serious about it, you know. Because you never really believe that something like that would happen, even though it most certainly and obviously does. Because they have back-up, you know? They have procedure and anti-venom and all that, but a stingray spine through the heart? Fuck, man. Just.. fuck.

I laughed a bit first, too. I think it's a natural "wtf" shock reaction..

...I just noticed you live in the hall named after an American Civil War hero.

Don't mind my history geeking. I hail from Gettysburg and his name is everywhere in the books at the tourist stores. *facepalms*

(I also liked the name for the longest time once >.>)
