dude you guys, I just made a ridorkulous ASS of myself in calc class.
we had to take a screening test, which is good because my brain was like, "numbers? what the fuck NUMBERS? oh HELL no. and what's this little jaggy thing? and YOU PROMISED I'D NEVER HAVE TO DO ABSOLUTE VALUES AGAIN, BITCH. well fuck that, I'm out of here." and I'm just left sitting there drooling on my pen going 'uhhh... I can give you about six synonyms for "parallel"...' (except I can't, but when the professor was searching for a word in the beginning of class I knew the one he wanted was "ethereal").
stupid brain.
so yeah. now I'm just going to listen to that No Man's Land audio drama until Tolkein class, where I can hopefully not be a complete vegetable.
STUPID BRAIN!
---appendix; a.k.a. proof:--
"The Chicago Board of Trade is one of the most recognized buildings in the Loop," (quote from CAF Tours webpage, picture from Emporis) WHICH IS WHY THE GOOD PEOPLE OF BATMAN BEGINS DECIDED TO SLAP A BIG FAKE W ON IT AND CALL IT FICTIONAL. good call, boys. but seriously, I love it. because it is right fucking there. and so art-deco, therefore so Gotham. promise I'll shut up now.

I love you, dear!

Date: 2006-01-23 10:15 am (UTC)I've actually considered going to a college, in Austin, because they teach a class on Tolkien's languages.
The only thing I ever learned in a 'math class' (which also counts as 'any' class using... "num-bers", whatever the hell those are.) was how to write out "go2hell" ('7734206') on my calculator. Now 'that', I may use in my lifetime.

Date: 2006-01-23 12:26 pm (UTC)No, actually, I'd prefer a workshop writing class, but Tolkein class would be a good second. Why does my schedule have no fun stuff this semester?
And I'm thrilled that I've already done my (1) required math class. Makes me happier to know that I will not need to suffer that again. At least until GREs.
