themeletor: close-up of a cupcake in the grass against a blue sky (go team kitten!)
so I was just talking to my brother about going to the grocery store for soda and I said oh there was some other reason I was planning to go... oh! I need sausages (for this risotto recipe).

and he immediately replied with "sausages! sausages! stay where you are!" in a perfect impression of little Laurence Feely in his Dalek game.

♥ that kid (Pidge) can be a total dumbass, but I love him.

p.s. [livejournal.com profile] bagelmuffin_luv! I got the dvd! finally :S it got to school on may 24, and they forwarded it here. WOOT! (the doodle is ADORABLE. *loff*)

I don't care WHAT you say, BoP fandom is THE MOST FABULOUS.
themeletor: close-up of a cupcake in the grass against a blue sky (breakfast on pluto)
I got both my long essays back from my English prof! A on the Dickinson, >> B because it was two and a half weeks late, B- on the BoP/Yeats one because I wrote in two absolutely bullshit paragraphs about Charlie and Irwin and something and he knew and I knew and he knew that I knew that they were total shit. >.>;

aaaand, that is all.

oh! we're having a BoP-reminiscing party over at [livejournal.com profile] p_braden_update, so head on over and join in!

OH MY WORD!

my dears, it is most absolutely a day for St. Kitten. I finished my Yeats-and-BoP essay, gave it to my professor, who proceeded to tell me how much he LOVED Breakfast on Pluto when he saw it in theaters (I had no idea! I'd been planning to lend him my DVD otherwise), and I convinced him he simply HAD to read the book over the summer. he also asked me if I was taking the Irish Story course next semester and I said yes, of course!

then I came back to my dorm, did some fiddling around, and picked up this album (Classified), by Bond, and guess what's nestled in the tracks? a version of "Fly Robin Fly"! as if Bond wasn't already way awesome enough!

truly, I love this moment. :) .:: savours ::.

and now I'm off to dinner, reading Throne of Jade. happy!
themeletor: close-up of a cupcake in the grass against a blue sky (irish eyes)
Dear Kitten,

I love you. You are the best muse ever.
(And I hope you don't mind that I'm lending your DVD to Prof. Collings when I hand in this paper on Monday.)

Yours truly,
Mel

...while I'm at it:

Dear CSS,

Please stop puking pixels at me. I have no idea where they came from, and it is just annoying. Fuck that; this layout is officially considered done.

No love at all,
Mel

music is love, so music for yous: The Decemberists, Roxy Music, Lynsey De Paul, Dusty Springfield, Ziggy Stardust, The Beatles. in... not really in that order.

firstly, because I promised it: )

secondly, an assortment I believe everyone should have, especially those of you who are among the 'phantom ladies' :) )

THAT'S ALL!

enjoy the music, dearhearts! and let me know if anything goes down, or isn't working, so I can fix it! also let me know what you downloaded, how you like it... I do this for you, but I'm really quite selfish! I want to hear your comments! when I'm very happy I use a lot of exclamation points! :D

just finished watching Transamerica.

same as with BBM, I'm now pretty sure this movie deserves almost all the props it gets. more than BBM, actually, because BBM's cinematography was so-so and the script had some ridonkulous points. Transamerica is very good. definitely impressed me. and you know, little miss Reese needs to hand over that Oscar. Felicity Huffman has stolen my heart (though, really, I never liked Reese in the first place).

more later, probably, on how it's apples and oranges from BoP, which is good, and how it's a different angle of the rather hackneyed middle-age transswoman comedy tale, which is also good.

"I'm a transsexual, I'm not a transvestite."
stay tuned.

so um. y'all know The Llama Song?

well, [livejournal.com profile] ima_pseudonym -- who also made this ICON OF AWESOME -- wrote "The Kitten Song" (as in, St. Kitten, darlings :D).

and I recorded it.

HENYWAY, I am way too angsty-wangsty-schmansty ... that was supposed to me "schmangsty" but "schmantsy" works too 'cause hey, I am antsy -- too a-w-s whatever to sleep, yay insomniaandschooltomorrowandwhereismyroommateomfg--

a musicky meme snatched from [livejournal.com profile] drbillbongo.

These are the instructions:
Put your iTunes/Winamp/WMP on shuffle.
Say the following questions aloud, and press play.
Use the song title as the answer to the question.
NO CHEATING unless the songs you get don't make any damned sense.

O great pool hall playlist oracle, grant me guidance... )

and who knows, I may upload these tracks later. I seem to be on a sharing music kick. whee!

Lynsey De Paul - Greatest Hits
--I was going to scan the jacket, which is full of lovely Lynsey photos and info, but the scanner/printer is still bleh and Marie and I are both too lazy to fix it. well actually, she's too computer-unsavvy, and I hate Dell so my opinion is the machine can go fuck itself. 89 MB .zip file of 21 .mp3 files--

also, for anyone wondering about my new "name"/journal title:
it, like just about everything[1], is my sister's fault. )

[ETA: Susan (from Narnia '05) is in Girl With A Pearl Earring!]
