my dears, it is most absolutely a day for St. Kitten. I finished my Yeats-and-BoP essay, gave it to my professor, who proceeded to tell me how much he LOVED Breakfast on Pluto when he saw it in theaters (I had no idea! I'd been planning to lend him my DVD otherwise), and I convinced him he simply HAD to read the book over the summer. he also asked me if I was taking the Irish Story course next semester and I said yes, of course!

then I came back to my dorm, did some fiddling around, and picked up this album (Classified), by Bond, and guess what's nestled in the tracks? a version of "Fly Robin Fly"! as if Bond wasn't already way awesome enough!

truly, I love this moment. :) .:: savours ::.

and now I'm off to dinner, reading Throne of Jade. happy!

At least you get a chance to be weird (or original, if you prefer). My final paper for my literary history course was basically: "Choose some poems from the Romantic period. Say what makes them typical of the period" It's very hard to bullshit your way through something so... bleh.

EW. I did that in high school. didn't like it then, either. that's just the one where you don't bullshit, you just nail it together as fast as you can and finish the paper like ripping off a band-aid. ;o;

Indeed. It was: Wikipedia, Byron, Wikipedia, Keats, repeat. Sucked.

I can't wait until third year (which is slightly sad) when one course is just an extended essay on anything you want. And next year we can do Shakespeare on Film. First year just sucks, there's no choice because of too many students. The same in History. An entire semester of St. Patrick. UCD had three lectures, and that's stretching the material pretty far.
