I did not watch / am not watching the Oscars. instead, George took me to see Nanny McPhee. really, really highly. higher than highly. I mean, IT'S EMMA THOMPSON AND COLIN FIRTH, FOR GOD'S SAKE. and and... Angela Lansbury. and that boy from Love Actually. and EMMA THOMPSON. and Colin Firth. and pure, joyful, fabulous beautiful sparkling genius. the screenplay is glee (of course; EMMA wrote it). visually, the film is luscious and divine. the sets are stunning and irrepressibly playful. and the acting... well. heh. --truly, a wonderful film. it made my sick, cranky, CSS-ed out, frankly bitchy self bouncy and happy and rose-coloured-glasses romantic. beautiful.

also I appear to be making possible headway re: CSS and The Layout. as always, it's one step forward two steps back and then maybe three steps forward again, but hey. (there's also probably a better way to be mucking around elbow-deep in my stylesheet than warping this journal with my trial-and-error, but, so be it. anyone who has a problem with my under-construction journal can sod off, thx)

ooh, that must be my sore throat resurfacing. I'll be off now, to my Fruit Breezers.
