look, in the sky, Chief.
Jun. 30th, 2006 12:27 amLois: It's a bird.
Perry: It's a plane.
Jimmy: No, look it's...
Clark: Uh, you wanted to see me?
you see this picture? looks pretty damn silly, doesn't it. but that sucker is great in action. srsly! I definitely approve of the movie, even though there were some parts that weren't so great (Lois Lane being a major DiD, for one). they did a fantastic job of carrying on / bringing in all the Superman mythos and it was epic and uplifting and grin-inducing and just plain fun and man. I loved it.
more later, maybe, but I need to sleep now!
(p.s. it wasn't until we were walking out of the theater that I realized I was wearing a Batman-logo tee, which amused me greatly and even moreso when the kid in a Flash-logo tee walked past and we both cracked up at each other)

Date: 2006-06-30 05:04 am (UTC)Heee, the dogs. >:D And Lex. And =o the Kryptonite stabbing. ;___;
Unfortunately, the novelization doesn't even come close to the movie. The author even dropped the entire Jason subplot (I mean, he exists, but he's not... super). Maybe I was spoiled by the Spidey novelizations by Peter David though.

novelizations pretty much always suck, except since Peter David does not suck the Spiderman novelizations must have been anomalies in the trend. which is one of suckage.
no seriously, the soundtrack was incredible.

Hmm, quite true. I do really love the Spider-Man novelizations though, so I thought I'd try it. Won't try that again. ;)

Date: 2006-06-30 05:26 am (UTC)I don't know precisely why I cried, as I'm not known to be a big fan of the big dumb alien in the first place, and also "killing Superman" is the oldest plot trick in the book, but ... gah. that sequence was just really really intense.
what're really bad are the Batman Begins picture books -- not the "visual guide" / "official movie guide", but the kiddie and preeteen picture books.

*snort* I can imagine... especially since I spent a while reading all the Batman Beyond kids books at my local Barne's and Noble. :D
