How can I help though, when I don't know what color it is now?

Go with darker red. Until I started trying to dye as close as humanly possible to the brown my hair is under all the grey, I always went dark red.

Bright bright bright fire engine red with blonde tips or streaks. Go nuts, girly.

woo! that sounds totally awesome, but I foresee two problems (maybe three): 1, with the bleaching it's definitely probably not an afternoon deal (though I don't know, I kind of think I could do it if I tried!), 2, I don't *quite* know how well crazy-bright red will go over at my jobs; I'm just guessing they're both relatively lenient, as people barely-if-ever see me at both *g*, and most importantly 3, my sister already did the red-with-whiteblonde and might be twitchy because she has issues with me "copying" her haircolor. though shit, if I decide it's what I want, she can deal XD

however, any other suggestions from that beautiful creative brain of yours?

Oh you're a cute little thing, aren't you?

DARK RED OK. IT LOOKS GOOD ON SHORT HAIR.

I mean, Dark red would work. That's my vote. Do you want me to put it in the poll too?

I say brighter red, and by brighter, I mean brighter and lighter. However, your poll did not let me choose both. :(

See, I get that. I had mine dark red forEVA and i just recently changed it to brown. I wouldn't go blond, for sure. Maybe black? Have you thought of black? Do you keep it straight like that, or no? That's an attractive look, black short straight hair.

Ahaha I'll give it to you, but it'll change every five minutes. ;)

I was briefly toying with the idea of black, but I've learned the hard way that even a supposedly temporary black dye WILL NEVER LEAVE MY POOR HAIR ALONE. it is actually how I got to start with the red dye; I used 24-wash black a few years ago when I was in The King and I, and wound up bleaching red-orange streaks in it after the show because nothing would strip or even fade the black, and the vaguely-goth look was not appreciated at my school. XD

so what I'm thinking is dark red, but with a couple well-placed streaks perhaps. just for excitement :)

Dude, I had black hair once, that was supposed to wash out after like, you know, the three or four months good permenant dye will stay in my hair that grows way too fast.

It took almost a year to get all that black out. It was nuts. And I didn't look good with black at AT ALL.

I think streaks would be awesome.

Wheeee! I broke the tie! at 2:23! go me! (not too much brighter, mind you, just a bit. i've been using the Garnier Fructisse permanent dye in color #69 (appropriately enough...) i can't remember the name of it, though, only that it's number 69, dude!

Henna.

It's a plant-based dye, probably available to health food stores (TACers get it at Trader Joe's, but I imagine it's available elsewhere). It's all-natural and conditions your hair as well. It's pretty popular here at TAC. No, I haven't gone and dyed my hair, but I'm recommending it to you.

Dark red with red highlights or
Brighter red with red lowlights

Either way, red is your gal.
