Interested in freelance writing? Come to the info session on Monday, October 17th at 7pm with Associated Content.
Associated Content is a web publishing company. John Armstrong '97 will be on campus to provide information on the company, as well as to hire freelance writers. Students will actually leave the session with writing assignments.
A message from John:
For anyone interested in freelance writing, publishing or media:
We are looking for Bowdoin students to create simple web articles on topics
they know, love or hate. We will pay for each article. We are looking for
articles such as, 'Great ColdPlay Sites', 'Brunswick Restaurants',
'Resources for Information on 18th Century Spain'. There is something for
everyone.
Additionally, learn about the writing, advertising and search engines.
Search Engines and the web are continuing to change things.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP via the eBear calendar or respond to this email ASAP.
Thanks,
Tamara

Dude.
Dude.
So I just e-mailed my Film Noir professor to see if I can get out of the screening for that night. Because even if this isn't a Big Serious Deal, it is a great chance to get some experience.
Other news of the day, I went to the Keep and it was raining. And I was very very dripping wet by the time I got in there. George, strange boy that he is, offers me "a paper towel or something?" while I wring my braid out on the porch. o_O k. Once I got in there and started browsing, though, and he realized I wasn't going to run away screaming, or stab him in the leg, or something, he meandered over and we had a nice chat about various dorky comic things like how Flash fanboys Batman and Frank Miller is scary. And Alfred wins at lifetheuniverseandeverything. Made plans for me to lend him my TAS Vol. 1, and burn them for him when I get a hold of blanks. By the time the rain had stuck me in there a good hour and a half, he was actually Not Totally Rabbitty and Frightened. I think I have mostly the guys to thank for that, through a combination of cracking jokes about trapping me in a meat-locker (do not ask) and the debate over whether Allison Mack or Kristin Kreuk was the better reason to watch Smallville (I put in my vote for Allison Mack, referencing the fact that cardigans just aren't that sexy).
Rain let up, I headed back to the dorm.
MUST FINISH FICATHON BEFORE READING COMICS. Good girl. Now, go to dinner.
