so ok. this morning was retarded. but that's past.

I came back to a bunch of Mannheim Steamroller from obi_wansgirl and omg happy.

and Marie's decorated her room with lights and a Christmas tree and tomorrow we're having a Christmas party and I'm supplying the music so a huge THANK YOU to everyone generous and kind (that means all of you) who's been supplying me!

and gambling_pirate and I just finished making plans for me to stay with her for a week at the end of winter break. GOD I AM A HAPPY LITTLE WIDGET.

this means I have the option of a day in Chicago (well, until 3pm) on the 10th January, which could be fun. any takers?

and I once again didn't put together the candies/cookies address poll thingee, wups to the nth degree.

Chicago?!?!?!?!?!

OH! You lucky DUCK! Chicago's one of the few remaining big cities in America that is still really nice and fairly clean! After living there, well, in a suburb of Chicago, I am still so in love with it.

Make sure your friend takes you to the Miracle Mile (oooh, the shopping you can do there), then, to Navy Pier, then, pick a museum because there are like 4 or 5 (i lost count) and they are all fantastic! Wear comfortable shoes because you'll walk for hours and take the L (your friend will know what that is) because it's an experience if you've never experienced mass transit in the big city.

I really miss Chicago, but not in the Winter (shivers). Sorry, but 30 degrees below zero isn't my kind of weather (shivers again). So here in Texas I'll stay, but we dream and hope to take our boys back to the Windy City. Both were born there but we left there when they were tiny.

Have a wonderful time at the party and, hopefully, at Chicago!

Oh, no, the pirate lives in a little town in Michigan; I'm only in Chicago between taking the Metra there from Milwaukee and taking the Amtrak up to MI.

But I agree with you on all points of Chicago; I'm in love with it, too. Have been since my uncle first took me for a day trip years ago. In fact, I may just take the early train in and stroll for a while, because I REALLY NEED my hit of Beautiful Big City after so long in Middle-of-Nowhere, Maine.

Michigan? My hubbie and I spent 5 years in Flint, MI. Yuppers... the famous Michael Moore's humble beginnings and GMC dumping ground.

I didn't much care for Flint, but then, who does. I visited Grand Rapids and loved it. Went to Macinac Island to see the Grand Hotel... Oooh, the memories.
