I just got back from The Producers movie. if I could feel or move my fingers, I might be effusive about it. since I cannot, you get the following.

Personally I thought Matthew was just bordering on unfunny, but Uma was quite good.

He was no Gene Wilder. but of course, nobody is. I had a lot of trust in him to make that role work -- he's been playing it on Broadway for a couple years and he'd better have figured out how to by now -- and that's probably a part of why I enjoyed his performance as much as I did.

Uma did her part quite well, and I have newfound regard for Will.

it WAS awesome. i actually didn't really like uma thurman in that movie though. I do like her ('course, she DID kick ass in kill bill) and i actually didn't really like that song she sang... oh wells.

so much awesome. personally, I was highly amused by her ability to go from Kill Bill kickassery to Mel Brooks... cuteassery. and it sounded like she had an impressive voice in there, behind the accent/spoken-word-ness; a few of her sung phrases gave me shiveries. I want to hear more of it, and was frustrated that I couldn't. I liked it.
