sorry for the spam, but I didn't want to stick this on my last post due to Spoiler Courtesy Protocol and all that.
I'm very seriously making plans about the purchase of an iPod. however, I am a PC baby and therefore wary, both of Apple's tech support and Apple's prices. will an iPod (standard 30- or 60-GB model) be a device of the sort that survives? I've heard testimonials both good and discouraging, in the past. and while I have money to spend, I definitely don't have money to throw around, and do not wish to invest in a finicky critter. I want something that will serve me well and for at least a couple years.
please to advise?

You might feel slighty dirty after buying the iPod, but the feeling will pass.

Date: 2006-07-09 12:57 am (UTC)Actually, if you're worried about money, I'd just get an iPod Nano. To me at least, they've PLENTY of song-space; way more than any regular mp3 player. The only real perk of a full iPod (that I know of) is that it plays video clips. Of what, I'm not sure.

Date: 2006-07-09 04:01 am (UTC)Don't get me wrong, though. Those buggers are hard to break. I must've dropped my first one three dozen times (from a considerable height (four, or so, feet) to a hard floor) before it petered out on me. Still, they're very much worth the money. (*cough*Not that I ever actually 'bought' one. They were gifts.*cough*)
