And Lo, the Meletor, in her ill-fitting blue vestments of hotel employment, didst say unto her psychiatrist, "Hast thou read anything good lately?"
To which he did reply, "Yea, verily! I have recently finished The Black Powder War, and I believe it to be the best one of the three -- what think'st thou?"
The Meletor didst respond, "I have not read it," and in revenge for his most transgressive boasting did also add in inquiry, "Hast thou ever read any book by Lois McMaster Bujold?"
...
And through this act she did increase the number of the flock by one.
At least.
Because he said his wife might read them, too.

IF THAT DIDN'T MAKE YOU SMILE AT LEAST A LITTLE BIT THEN YOU HAVE NO SOUL.
I should sleep now. many things to get done tomorrow.

Date: 2006-08-16 03:15 pm (UTC)May I repost this (with your LJ name removed, if you like) on the Bujold list? I know Lois would get a kick out of your "converting" your psychiatrist.
Also, how busy are you this weekend? Because we might have a reason you'd want to drop by for an evening. Or a morning. Or an afternoon. ;-)

I still can't believe that Alessandro Moreschi is on my iPod!!! *spaz*
No worries-just wanted to make sure you got it.
Date: 2006-08-19 02:23 am (UTC)Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one to squee with delight at Moreschi's recordings. I have a thing for unusual music-the wierder the better-so it fills me with glee. Then I play it for other people and they go "Oh...really." Or "Ugh. What is that?"
There are samples of all the tracks on the CD at Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000000WYS/sr=8-1/qid=1155927712/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-7259453-8461455?ie=UTF8) but some of the tracks are the whole choir as well as Alessandro. I find that only the Realplayer links work, but my PC is a bit wonky.
I wonder what else I have that I could post...*browses*
