Apr. 7th, 2005 08:53 pmdeciding to grant myself some teevee tonight.
The Meaning Of Food
and/or (they're at the same time)
Battlefield Britain -- tonight "Owain Glyndwr and the struggle for Welsh independence are examined, including discussions on his guerilla war tactics. Also: England's victory over Wales." A little outside my time preference, but I'll give it a look.
And while I'm doing that... y'all give this a look. It's fascinating. I got lost in the website, drooling over linguistics, and now I'm ten minutes late for the show(s).

Date: 2005-04-08 01:18 am (UTC)Oddly enough, for one who grew up in Wales, the only stuff I've ever learned about Owain Glyndwr is what I read in a book from the library about 10 years ago... actually, it's even more odd considering that it probably came under 'local history' for the area I lived in... I can't remember though where the battles took place, so I could be completely wrong. Now I feel all inadequate, so I'd better get a book out of the library again at some point and read up on it. Well, that is if they even have books on Welsh history in Oxfordshire...
Hee hee, I love those celtic tree thingy-s. I'm a weeping willow, which is kinda appropriate given the whole proximity to rivers thing, and that I spent vast amounts of my childhood playing around & climbing willow trees :-) I'll go post the thingy in me own LJ in a tick...
