First rule of any business: don't trust the IT department to know how to fix the computers. Usually the person who knows how to fix them works in a different department...
I logged onto the school computers for the first time just before we broke up for holidays.
It was... odd. First time for 3 1/2 years, except for occasional use of internet cafes, that I've not had admin privs.
Plus it's Win2k which I've not used in aaaaages. Took me forever to remember how to change ones password in that situation, lol.
