Six Flags Great America -- Batspam!

When the lot of us (me, Vivs, Vivs' girl Ess, Pidge, Pidge's friend Sarah, and Jared my cuddlewhore friend who moved to London-ish with his family a year ago and we haven't seen each other since) arrived at the park, there was complete unanimity on where to go first.




"Gotham City - Building Toward a Better Tomorrow" -- the ride and staging are all based off Burton's Batman. Also means the Elfman theme is playing, WOOT. Except in the park where it's recorded children screaming.


The line begins in Gotham's Pineapple Park... (going through this part always brings back memories of standing in line when it was brand new (it was also my first 'coaster, heart) and holding tight to our "this is your number if you move we'll KILL YOU" papers... warmandfuzzy)

"Gotham City Public Works Power Plant" -- also visible is... a part of the track? and the Batlogo. YAY


GCPW (Gotham City Public Works) trash can!


Another look at the side of the plant, with double the Burton 'Mr. Nude Gotham'. Also, a streetlight.


Tracks (I'm still not sure I agree with the blueandyellow repainting), and the crashed GCPD car. We'll be seeing more of it.


Told you. Here you can see the pire hydrant it bonked. Above, where the ceiling looks jagged and torn off, is the broken bridge (pretty cool, huh?). I just noticed that this year, and more pictures of it will come later.

This wall used to be covered in the coolest graffiti. It was great for admiring while waiting in line. Vivs and I both grieve it hard.


More police car. And if you look into the sun above and past it, you can see its relationship to the broken bridge.

YAY! The 'Danger High Voltage' sign! I don't know why I like it so much. Aside from the skull and crossbones.

Also, a reminder of who didn't make the good Batman flicks, there's a stretch of blacklight at the top of the stair. Where it smells like butt.

Batlogo! Ride warnings! Pregnant ladies beware the Bat-man! And such. This is where Alfred starts telling us not to stand past the yellow line.

This is the track. It used to be all black. And while that meant it took me a few years to get over confusing it with Demon from across the park, I still prefer it. This doesn't work with the yellow-purple-grey-black of the rest of the ride. THEREISNOBLUE.

"GCPW Restrooms" -- yes, I took a picture of the Batman bathrooms. That guy? Looks pissed off.


Come to think of it, I should have moved this to the beginning. But then you wouldn't know of my chronological anomaly... *shrug*


Omgee! GCPW peoplestoppers! that whole part of the line was empty.

And on that note of the Burton yummies, I patter off to arrange the boatspam (yes, boatspam -- well, decorative!parephenalia-spam...) from Angelo's ex-seafood now-pizza/pasta place. Then there will be the Superspam (from Superman: Ultimate Flight), and then the end pictures, of us at Gurnee Mills and of lizards being naughty and of the white whale elusive pie truck. And other funnies.

Alll during the time I was at Cedar Point with two of my friends, we kept reading the signs and telling each other to get out of line; you can't ride if you're pregnant! It got old toward the end of the day. ;D

And damn. I wish Cedar Fair hadn't bought the Six Flags near me and made it all generic-Gauga Lake with no Batman: The Ride. D: I am very jealous and now need to go to SF:GA for more than just to ride Kingda Ka. >__> The theming alone is worth it!

Ah, yes, I easily confuse Great Adventure and Great America. ^^; I'm a Cedar Point brat, what with it being 1.5 hours from where I live. ;) That would be sweet. Except with the starting school really soon. :(
