more AWE (all very general; no spoilers)
May. 26th, 2007 02:19 amwatched it again tonight, on the UltraScreen no less. loved it. phew!
I mean, there are still obviously some huge sticking-points I have, where my preferences diverge massively from, well, um, what was actually written into the film XD ... and I still cried like a freak. but at least this time through I could actually put together what I was seeing, and figure out how it made a plot and a movie, which is something I couldn't particularly do last night because everything was coming at me so fast.
but, no, yes. I am tired and headachey now, which just basically makes it even harder than usual for me to write a coherent, thoughtful response to a movie, so yeah. not even gonna try. suffice to say, I am feeling quite a bit better about the whole thing.
and, um, also playing with a low-rated cute and angsty little Groves/Norrington thingy

May. 24th, 2007 02:22 pmso I picked up a preliminary schedule booklet for Summerfest on the way out of the hotel, and ...
something tells me I'm going to be wasting a lot of time and money there this year. yay! but what I need, though, is a Summerfest Buddy (or a couple, yanno) because it's just kind of shit to go alone. yeah? so, let me know on that. I know I have all of, like ... I could count all my Milwaukee-area flisters on one hand. but still. THE WHINING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL YOU AGREE TO KEEP ME ENTERTAINED. YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT.
possible plan: the two Marcus Amphitheater shows I'm looking at hitting are The Fray with Ok Go and Mae on Saturday, June 30, and Panic! at the Disco with Gym Class Heroes, The Academy Is ... , and The Hush Sound on Saturday, July 7. so those are nicely spaced out.
the rest of it is going to be spent wandering around the US Cellular stage (yay FM 102/1!) and the Miller Oasis. probably. though the Global Groove stage can be fun *g*
I'm also seeing a lot of tinfoil-wrapped cold sandwiches and water bottles smuggled in tote bags.
WHO'S WITH ME?
speaking of going places and doing things with people, PIRATES 3 TONIGHT! I'M KIND OF EXCITED AND KIND OF FRIGHTENED.

THE BOY AT THE UPS STORE FIXED MY IPOD!
May. 21st, 2007 11:11 pm... by doing exactly the same thing I've been doing over and over since it died. that is, resetting it. so, I'm a bit confused ... but happy!
seriously, dad and I were at The UPS Store shipping my iPod and my harddrive, both of which were going back for warranty-associated things, so had to be packed up all special, and while I was filling out the address form UPS Boy snuck my iPod, poked at it a bit, and next thing I knew there Pearl was, screen glowing happily! I was like "WHAT DID YOU DO?" and he was like "well if you hold this button and this button ..." and I was like "I KNOW THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING A BILLION TIMES SINCE THE AFTERNOON WHEN IT DIED." I'm still mystified. but HAPPY!
and still fighting the urge to go back and leap over the counter and hug the boy to pieces.
YAY IPOD!

also, I would like to thank a) my dog, for whining and bitching and running around the house and keeping me up until 3 am when I ACTUALLY WAS NOT FULL OF THE INSOMNIA, THANKS; I WANTED TO SLEEP; and b) my parents for waking me up at 6:30 am with a shouting match. yay! ... something tells me I will be taking a nap between jobs.
hey, at least this way I have time to watch House before work. :D

why, on my morning/afternoon off, is it consistently raining?
why did I just feel for a touchpad on the wristrest of my mom's keyoard?
why have I gotten sick on mexican grapefruit water and too-salty generic macaroni and cheese instead of getting any writing done, at all?
what am I doing tomorrow before my 2:00 appointment with Michelle?
I know the answers, vaguely, to three of these questions. the last one is all you, kids. (no, seriously. anything? Bueller?)

on that note, here is a SECRET MESSAGE that I really feel like I have to share (six days! six!):

urgh.
I have a very, very sick laptop. um, again. and see, I don't think I beat the poor thing up. it's been sitting on a nice open crate, plenty of airflow, all unmoved and un-messed-with for as long as I've been home and working. but somehow, there's something hardware wrong. that's the one thing that daddy's been able to determine.
please help me psychically pull for it not being another harddrive problem, and understand when I'm not online very much. ♥

it's because I live in Wisconsin right now, not Maine.
*facepalm*
[ps - not the first time this has happened.]

May. 9th, 2007 04:20 pmMY BABY SISTER IS EIGHTEEN! klsjalkfhsfjsdgklasjdlfs
I took her out for lunch (Wong's Wok, because cheap-and-dirty Chinese is just what she wanted, so ok) and we made freaks of ourselves driving back to school with the windows rolled down blasting "Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)" over, and over ... and over. it was just like the good old days, only with more hair dye and less ... um, school. :-D
HERE WATCH SOME MUSIC VIDEOS GUYS.
( 3, or maybe 4 embedded youtubes. or something. I haven't decided yet as of this cut-text. )
oh and I have to go to work now, but somebody should remind me to tell the wild tales of those antics which go down in cubbycle 69 at the ACS Midwest Division Headquarters. 'cause they're crazy fun.

So, you call yourself a writer...or, what NOT to do in your fics by
idiosyncratic
(ps sorry I've been kinda AWOL, guys -- lost in the lands of Work and Porn (yay! porn!).)
[ETA with a possible bonus of TMI: while changing for 2nd Job just now I have noticed a bruise on my hip that looks like it came from something dirty. I mean, it didn't, but it looks that way. I'm confused. I don't even remember walking into anything!]
