I should probably have started this entry *before* I took the sleeping pills. oops.
so, the reason I've been particularly spastic and sporadic lately (as opposed to my general and consistent low levels of both) is that I've been pretty much DEVOURED AND CONSUMED by my new-job-which-is-no-longer-that-new, that of in-store food demo coordinator (a.k.a. Food Ambassador) at Outpost Natural Foods. it's starting to feel suspiciously almost like a Real Job with Real Responsibilities, one for which I need to begin learning and employing techniques like Time Management and Research and even a little bit of Writing Copy. I'm trying not to feel too intimidated on a regular basis; Outpost is ultimately a fun place to work with pretty amazing people and some spectacularly unique shoppers/co-op owners, and I still find it very easy to grin and tell people that I have the greatest job in the world. because I kind of do.
I'm also still serving at Stir Crazy. I'm up to four- and five-table sections and I count that as a HUGE victory for someone who had NEVER served before Sept. 22 and who honestly wasn't quite sure at all that she was going to be able to keep up. so, win!
aside from that, I'm actually getting out of the house with increasing degrees of frequency. doing silly things with friends (mostly people from Stir Crazy), and oh, yeah. concerts. I've been attending a decent handful of those (nothing too impressive, but it keeps me on my toes), and have been fortunate enough to have
fairestcat (plus a varying number of other awesome people) as company for all those shows that were not watching a friend cover classic metal in an acrid, beer-tinged biker bar. so, Cobra Starship, Empires (also with
iclysdale and a friend from Stir Crazy), Fall Out Boy (Chicago!
prairiedaun! and a bunch of other fangirls whose lj-names (and, not gonna lie, sometimes actual names) completely elude me at the moment! shenanigans! INTERPRETIVE DANCE BEARS), and Empires/Forgive Durden again (more
prairiedaun! more fangirls whose names I do not know at all!). in summary, I am ridiculously happy that gas prices have gone down so significantly. also that I know such awesome people who, in turn, know other awesome people. AWESOMENESS!
(p.s.
prairiedaun I miss you already. I am wishing you safe travels all the way back home. take care! ♥)
alsooooooo, for those of you who do not know but would like to follow along (hooray sporadic and boring antics!), I am on the twitter. as meletor, of courses.
okay, now that I am full of pomegranate dairy-free ice cream and have faithfully updated my journal and listened to Folie A Deux all the way through with
lordgroovius (ANDY HURLEY YOU ARE MY *FAVORITE*), Miss Greta and I are going to bed.
sleepies.

Date: 2008-12-09 04:49 am (UTC)I made it home a few hours late after 1) my first bus of the morning had no heat at all, 2) my second bus broke down twice and I had to transfer to a completely made up bus route to get me to Fargo, 3) the bus had to take someone back to the States after they were turned away by Canada (LOL, rejected by CANADA. HOW SAD.)
