in other news, I have a gazillion recipes to post. cava-soaked fruit with lavender for new years, a tremendously dark and rich chocolate stout cake for my mom's birthday/belated mom's-side-of-the-family holiday event, quinoa-polenta nuggets, peanut butter udon noodles, face-burning margaritas ... probably others. I don't even know. I should filter, or start a separate blog, or something ... but that is far too much work. besides, if I never get around to posting about the food it can't even begin to take over my journal. there. problem solved.

... in addition I have so many people to catch up on, so much to do, an actual fic to actually write, and yet I can never seem to sit down long enough to get any of this started, much less finished. is this what real life feels like? it's what CRAZY feels like.


I am mostly recovered from my death-cold.
I am up way past my bedtime.
I am out of beer.
*sigh*

XDD actually it's all things that I've made over the past, like, two weeks ... or something.

but omg there was a MASS of food at the party. my uncle did most of the cooking -- his traditional sweet cheese pierogi (polish fried dumpling thing), maple-glazed ham, baked macaroni and cheese, fresh homemade whole wheat rolls, etc. etc. etc. I just had pierogi and mac and cheese, obviously, but it was AWESOME. :D
