(so yeah, that means I have a dreamwidth account now, thank youfairestcat! I'm themeletor over there; find me if you like me (or drop your dw handle in comments) and I'll commence the commonplace friend-swapping!)
ummmmmm, so yanno usually I don't update a lot because I do not have a lot going on in my life! but this past week -- this past week has been kind of ridic and pretty awesome! and I'm sure everybody wants a flaily follow-up on my cryptic glee-post, yeah? yeah. (actually I don't know if you do! but you know what, I do not really care! because GLEE!)
(here, have some more exclamation points: !!!!!!!!!!! that's 11. that should last a couple minutes.)
~ firstly, yes, dreamwidth. I have been SUPER EXCITED (and also super nervous) for this shit! my fear of course is that I will completely fall off one site or the other, and that will be sad. but COME ON, dw is just so SHINY! and SUPPORTIVE! I'm a fan. my journal here is kind of ugly and I don't have any userpics yet and whatever but I've imported all my entries and comments and stuff! so cool! I just, yeah, don't know how well the whole "getting involved" thing is going to work. I'm mostly in it just to follow the people I care about over to this shiny new space, here, not gonna lie, and while a fannish revival could be fun? I'm just way super uncertain about the whole ... free time ... thing. also about my brain having any attention span whatsoever.
~ speaking of attention spans! or something... WISCON! (yet another thing where I have little to no independent footing or time to really get involved, BUT I am there for the peoples. and the fun times. HOORAH!) I just (literally JUST) got my welcome brochure in the mail. I still have not heard anything about the Tiptree Bakesale since the e-mail I send right after I registered, though, so um. going to check on that (CLOCKWORK COOKIES, ferchrissake). otherwise! House that Slash Built, fangirls, feminism, good times! May 22-25! woo!
~ okay, next on the list is ... *scrolls up* ... FOOD! I do not remember what I was going to say about food. oh, maybe that I walked into The Spice House and was immediately asked to apply for a job grinding spices, 20 hrs/week, $12/hr, by Bill (William Penzey, Sr.)who is otherwise known as the father of William Penzey, Jr. and obviously the dude who taught him what he knows. so yeah, have to e-mail about that because FUCK YES.
~ next: Believers Never Die (Part Deux) tour! Fall Out Boy, Cobra, fun times, shenanigans, the Rave! haHA, MAY 16, YES, I am SO excited. not least because guess who also has plans (PREVIOUS plans, no less, because she is THAT AWESOME) to be there?
~ \o/ Girl! last but not least! um, this is going to be brief because I have to get ready for work and also because if I really get going on this topic I might never stop! so, we had coffee last Monday which turned into a 5-hour excursion of EXCELLENCE and from there it's been all of the best kind of downhill. (this weekend Tom introduced her as my girlfriend, and then I introduced her as my girlfriend, and both of those were a little bit of the impulsive sort of "oh shit! did I cross a line?" moments, but at the same time it was what felt, instinctively, most accurate -- when something comes out of my mouth with such blinding speed it tends to be the truth somewhere, and anyway self-censorship makes me unhappy.) so! that's all good! also she is SPECTACULAR and really quite perfect. I am very very happy and super lucky and still kind of blindsided and blinking in the sun. :D
