Some time around early December/late OctoberNOVEMBER, I was lying in bed staring up at the ceiling thinking nothing in particular when this idea hit me:

"I SHOULD VID TO BJORK!"

...apparently for sheer merit of COMPLETE INSANITY. Mel smokes the good crack, she does.

So then, you know, I shared this with [livejournal.com profile] phurie_dae, who had to enable me, and send me these Bjork mp3s, and be all supportive and helpful and beautifully nitpicky and GOD DAMN, I DID IT (eventually and with much wailing and gnashing of teeth). There's something Most Wrong with my head. .::falls right over::.

"Emotional Landscapes" - Batman Begins footage to Joga by Bjork, with incredible thanks to [livejournal.com profile] phurie_dae for keeping me from killing myself, WMM, or both, and also to [livejournal.com profile] tiggothy and [livejournal.com profile] shrieking_ell for being somewhat-willing victims <3.

(Since I didn't quite feel like abusing [livejournal.com profile] drbillbongo's bandwidth (this sucker's 34MB), that's a YSI link up there, and just let me know when it craps out. Or if you want a more manageable filesize, because I can do that, too.)

THIS JUST IN -- LEAVING FEEDBACK SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN TO BE THE TRUE SECRET OF ETERNAL YOUTH!
(ConCrit also highly, highly appreciated, but not necessary.)

Wow... It was really really good! ^^ I liked it so much that I'm going to download the song. Any more Bjork recommendations?

Absolutely beautiful. *blinks* Such a perfect melding of song and video - they really fit well together. The song was very nice, I've never heard of Bjork, but now I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

*blush* thank you very much.

Bjork is one of my favorite musical artists, but I never saw any of her songs as remotely viddable, even while I was starting to put this one together. it was rather insane.

do definitely give her stuff a listen! it's a little wacky, but strangely poetic.

You attention whore, you!

*gives you attention and hugs*

(no actual comments as yet as it will be too much of a pain in the ass at the moment to reset laptop into something that can actually view the vid. it has been saved for later)

also - i'm writing an Alfred fic. just thought you might want to know. This is a total non sequitor.

Spurious promises of Eternal Youth aside, this is absolutely, totally, and in all other ways, BRILLIANT! It's almost scary how well that song fits those images.
Loved.
Enjoyed.
Etc.ed.

Right at about 4 mins, the video slows down a bit—and it's beautiful.

It may just be that it's late nad I'm tired, but it seemed almost frantic at first (then again so did the music, so I think it fit nicely) but the ending of it was so poignant. . .gorgeous.

That looks like it takes a lot fo work, and it's just excellent.

Um.

Holy crap. This is probably my favourite fanvid out of all I've ever seen. The timing is wonderful, the blending of scenes and characters is beautiful. With the song choice and the way that you put it together it gives it that sort of melancholic feeling, the needless tragedy of all their lives...

I wanted to see some Ducard in there, mostly because the calm on his face just before the train crashes would have fit equally well, but the fight scenes with him...not so much.

But seriously. You are my goddess.

I did try having some Ducard in there, but [livejournal.com profile] phurie_dae can attest to the fact that it looked like crap. Maybe if I'd worked it in with a little more finesse... but really, this isn't Ducard's story, it's Bruce's and it's Batman's and it's about how Crane/Scarecrow (and Rachel) played into that. Ducard has this nasty habit of stealing the show.

I'm glad it did work out for you, though, and I'm extremely flattered that you think so highly of it. Thank you for the kind and thoughtful words! (and of course, for the suggestion! *concrit whore*) None of them have had easy lives, damn Gotham for it, and they all wind up driven by things that aren't happiness. And it's just... life. *minor heartbreak of love*

And on my umpteeth watch, I just want to say that the bit with Joe Chill running away and cutting with eyematch to one of Falcone's henchmen getting hit by batman is heartbreaking and explains his entire character in one cut.

And your interspersing of young!Bruce...still watching it over and over. In love.

I... yes! God you have no idea how flailingly happy I am to hear someone else thinks that. Because... that. And the look he gives Chill. The "my teeny tiny heart is breaking and I'm going to clean you out of my city for it" face -- those two things = BruceBatman. Aiieee, I love you.

Young!Bruce is my sekkrit crush. Not so sekkrit now... and not really so much of a crush, as, HOLY CRAP DOES THAT KID NEED AN OSCAR OR WHAT.

<3.

Amazing Video!

I just watched your video and what an excellent job you've done! You captured the emotions of the film so well. I liked the pacing and repetition of scenes throughout, especially the beginning sequence with the bats - very effective! I hope to see more fanvids by you!
