daily news...
Oct. 18th, 2004 09:56 pm1: I'm looking at ideas for a new icon. Maybe out of the pictures I took. Much as I absolutely -adore- this one, and it makes me feel all happy and special and *squee* and makes me think happy thoughts of late January, I'm feeling like it might be time for a change. Hm. We'll see. I'm at least working on collecting/making/whatever iconnage to fill up the open spaces on my paid lj (i.e. fic lj)... so yeah.
2: Heard Dido's "Sand in my Shoes" on the radio last night, and got SERIOUS PtT plot-arc ideas. I mean, run-into-Viv's-room, scrawl-madly-on-legal-pad type plot arc ideas. Writing, consider thyself facilitated. I know where my story's goin'! ...It'll just take me 8 bajillion years to get it there.
(for special psychic preview of Way In The Future of PtT, give "Sand in my Shoes" a listen. no spoilers, just teasers, which you'll only get if you listen real careful and think real hard. actually, you probably won't, except Eliz, who knows a Special Plot Point... but listen anyway, 'cuz it's a VeryGoodSong)
3: Laptop still hasn't come yet. But that's to be expected. I mean, the guy did say it would be 1-2 weeks. But when it does come... mi vida sera buena. (yeah spanglish sin acentos XP)
4: Spent a lot of today griping and b**ching about Sam, again. It would appear Aquafina's in the play, now, as our Flute dropped. So did our Snout, and Snug, and maybe even a few others. Don't know. But it was fun, chatting with Aquafina (who actually wasn't SuperQuiet, which is cool) and watching Pidge run through his "I Am The Ruler of the Queen's Nayvee" for HMS Pinafore (yes, that's how they spell it). My little brother is First Lord of the Admiralty! *ish so proud* ...And yanno, even snarking at Jesse was fun. Love that kid, even though he's a Jim Carrey maniac, and I can't -stand- the man. Also ran Megs' lines with her, and snarked at her for messing up the iambic pentameter by adding random words. She said she didn't care. I wanted to throttle her.
5: Came home to a letter in the mailbox... from Bowdoin. It was rather thin... I almost cried; I was so sure it was a rejection letter. Opened it-- "Congratulations, Melody..." So yeah, squee, I'm flyin' to Maine! Now if I can get a similar letter from UA... *hopehopecrossfingersHailMary*
...*yawn*
Em and I had an argument about language. Or rather, she said something, and I chased her around the senior room trying to argue my point while she laughed at me. Well... you don't go and tell -M that we're limited by language. You just. Don't. (becauseshewillchaseyouaroundtheseniorroomandmakesureyouknowthetruth) Language is our only freedom. It's not perfect, but without it we're screwed. Anyone seen the movie Iris? Dame Judi Dench and Jim Broadbent? It was what... last year? Year before? I think perhaps the year before last, yes. Anyway, Iris Murdoch on language is enthralling.
...*yawn-yawn*
nightynight, y'all. Drop me lines, yeah?
