and I got it all set up all by myself (with a little help from Daddy, over the phone). go me! and I only dropped THREE SCREWS, and I only lost ONE.

(If it's any consolation: You should see the computers at work, several years old each, 2 hard drives in each, all of which I've had to replace at least once. I'm down to the wire in the screw department! Honest to god, I put them down where I can find them after - and something invisible steals them. I swear! It's the cousin of the dryer sock-eater!)

(dude, for serious. screws have legs, I think! fortunately I was 3 for 4, anyway, and when I find the screw I'll stick it where it belongs. I'm sure the sock-eating gremlin and the screw-stealing gremlin are related! and when they get together for the holidays they make the worst fruitcake ever! and the oven always breaks anyway!)

I'm telling you, they live in my student accomodation and go out at night to frighten everyone else. My student accomodation is SCARILY bad. I've had to nick screws from the abandoned room (burst pipe, never fixed the damp) to fix my own door. :X!

Yay!!!!!!! much more that I could do...a couple weeks ago I tried to take apart a DVD player to fix a loose button...got it apart...but couldn't get it back together, so I had to trash it. :)

bwee!! I was pretty scared about the whole taking-things-apart aspect, because yeah I've never been that good at putting them together again, but you know what? I totally did it! and I now have a shiny hammer with sparkly-marble-pink enamel over the head, and six little screwdrivers matrushka'd up in the handle! *grin*

pity about your DVD player, though.
